How to export volunteer records from POINT

Keep a usable copy of your records before changing a workflow. These steps follow POINT’s published help; they do not connect POINT to NeedsPage.

Choose the right export

POINT’s export overview places contact exports under People → Contacts, or a specific group. Event volunteer lists are in the event’s Shifts tab. Choose the records your organization actually needs instead of exporting everything.

Export organization-wide hours

Open Tracking → Hours. Apply the date, group, program, status or source filters you need, then choose Apply Filters. Use Export CSV in the upper-right corner. The file reflects those filters; reset them first if you need the complete list.

Export one volunteer’s approved hours

Open People → Contacts and select the volunteer. Open Hours, then Actions. Choose PDF for a readable report or CSV for a spreadsheet. POINT’s help says this profile view includes the full approved-hours history without filters.

Check and protect the file

Compare a few rows with the source records and note which filters and date you used. Keep the file in an access-controlled location. Do not put volunteer contact information in a public page, screenshot or shared signup link.

What you can move into NeedsPage

There is no automatic POINT import or historical volunteer-hour ledger in NeedsPage. Start by creating current needs and sharing your new page. NeedsPage can export its own signup records as CSV; retain your previous system or exported history for older reporting.
